Cinnamon move to Italy!

One of the best jumping horses in Estonia, 14 year old holstein mare Cinnamon whos latest achievements was winning the World Cup in Tallinn has moved to a new stable. Her new rider is Paolo Cannizzaro, member of the Italian show jumping team.

According to the Trojan Horses team manager Riina Pill Paolo noticed Cinnamon at last years Helsinki Horse Show. „He quickly needed a new horse for the big classes since his former ride had just passed away and the deal was basically made on the phone. He did not try Cinnamon once but as Paolo is an accomplished athlete riding the mare should not pose many difficulties“ explained Pill. „We never actively tried to sell the horse but when the opportunity presented itself we went along with it. Unfortunately, in our sport there is a price and a buyer for every horse. As Cinnamon has quite some years on her back, it was decided to take the offer. „

The majority of the ten years that Cinnamon was our team member she was ridden by Tiit Kivisild but her first starts she made under Jüri Sokolovski. Now training in Sweden he new already in 2005 that the mare has a lot of potential also for the bigger classes. Jüri jumped six clear rounds out of the seven that he started on her. There is a list of great achievements from Tiit and Cinnamon though. They took part in the European Championships (Windsor 2009), 3 World Cup Finals, won many World Cups as well as Grand Prix. According to Tiit one of their greatest results was winning the World Cup in Tallinn 2014 but mentionned also some good placings in Helsinki were all the world best riders were present.

Three years ago Oma Hobu magazine wrote: „He(Tiit) talks thankfully about his horses. He thinks of Cinnamon as the best horse he has ever ridden and that she would probably be an ideal horse if her health would be better. In Tiit’s words: „When she is healthy we always succeed. She does not need to be trained a lot but just taken good care of and coddled.““

„I am of course very sad to see her go but the sale is understandable as it does not happen every day if ever that you get a phone call like that. I am not sure that I will ever be lucky enough to ride a horse like that again but time will tell, “ adds Tiit who has his faith now in the up and coming stars Sullivan and Corsica.

The great white mare will always be in our hearts also from 2014 Tallinn Horse Show poster where Kersti Kalberg had caught an image of Cinnamon running on the field with her tail on her back. Have great life and lots of success!
